Hi,

As requested I'm forwarding the section of log that refers to the
APIC problems:-

Nov 21 10:12:59 clc kernel: testing the IO APIC.......................
Nov 21 10:12:59 clc kernel:
Nov 21 10:12:59 clc kernel: WARNING: unexpected IO-APIC, please mail
Nov 21 10:12:59 clc kernel: to linux-smp@vger.kernel.org

etc. The full section is an attachment.

The system is a dual CPU (1700Mhz) Xeon machine with 2MB RAM on a Tyan
Thunder i860 motherboard running Red hat 7.1 with kernel 2.4.2-2smp

The /proc/interupts look like:-

           CPU0 CPU1
  0: 1848821 0 IO-APIC-edge timer
  1: 12550 0 IO-APIC-edge keyboard
  2: 0 0 XT-PIC cascade
  8: 1 0 IO-APIC-edge rtc
 12: 146965 0 IO-APIC-edge PS/2 Mouse
 16: 1108112 0 IO-APIC-level nvidia
 19: 29 0 IO-APIC-level sym53c8xx, usb-uhci
 21: 667989 0 IO-APIC-level eth0
 23: 35788 0 IO-APIC-level sym53c8xx
NMI: 0 0
LOC: 1848805 1848941
ERR: 0
MIS: 0

If you'd like futher information I can provide that.

If you have any fixes/advice then I'd like to hear about them as this
machine crashes frequently as it stands.

Thanks,

Phil Biggin.
