      Thanks for replying.

So is it worth the $50 to get the CD?  This distribution seems to be
spread out a bit on the ftp server and having a CD with everything
included could be a bit handy.  Something else I may be faced with
is a machine that may or may not be connected to the Internet nor
a bootable CD drive.  If the OpenRTL installation comes with a floppy
boot disk that loads the appropriate CD rom drivers that would be ideal.

The kernel yes (if you applie the minirtl related patches
for initrd and untar) - for user space apps you need to
build against glibc-2.0.7 - this makes sense only if you
realy need the floppy size image .

for kernel modules that's the way to do it.
