It looks like Jeff caught everything and he knows this stuff better than I
do anyway.  :)

I'll look again when I get home tonight.

I will say that the HOSTS section should just be ignored and left commented
out. I was never able to get mine to work using it. Anywhere that the
HOSTS section variables occurred, I just hard coded the correct info rather
than using a variable.

You can see a config file that works for me here appendix C;
http://leaf.blkmtn.org/LRP2.9.8-HowTo.html
I keep hoping I'll have more time to work on it, but real time
considerations are a joy of interference.... In any case, the document does
not have tested firewall instructions (the ones in it, are for Seawall on
the Eigerstein series and I haven't yet tested them on LRP 2.9.8 yet) nor
does it have port forwarding stuff yet.

IF2_IFNAME is commented out, so none of the IF variables matter.

that my network address (NET0_NETADDR)is wrong, perhaps you can tell me
how I can check what it really is so I can verify. But if that would be
all, I at least should be able to ping a PC on my internal network (I
think). Sorry I didn't think of sending my network.conf the first time.

Not much point in the HOST variables for this setup. I recommend
commenting out the HOST0_IPADDR variable.

Based on the netmask given above, this should be

 NET0_NETADDR=213.84.89.0

> > NET0_NETMASK=$IF1_NETMASK

This should be

 NET0_NETMASK=$IF0_NETMASK

> > NET0_GATEWAY_IF=$IF1_IFNAME

This should probably be "default" not IF1_IFNAME

> > NET0_GATEWAY_IP=default

This should be

 NET0_IPMASQ=NO

This should probably be something like

 GW0_IPADDR=213.84.89.1

but you would have to confirm with your ISP.
