Subject: [LRP] Trouble configuring 3 NICs. Two NICs work well.

I've successfully configured the idiot image with
two ne2000 NICs. I want to add one more ne2000
NIC, but it fails.

Upon boot up, it can see the other two cards and
it configures them.

I've changed BIOS settings for PCI/ISA from 'auto'
to 'manual' without any luck.

Info:

 - This machine is an old P75 with and Intel VX
   chipset

 - All NICs are ISA.
   -- Kingston kne2000tlc

 - I'm running 2.9.4

Here's the io/irq configs on the cards:

   card 1 : io=320 irq=10
   card 2 : io=300 irq=5
   card 3 : io=340 irq=15

I've changed card 3's irq to 9, 11, 12, and now
15. The card's config utility won't let me set
it's irq to 7, even though I've disabled the
parallel port in the BIOS. I would like to
reserve the irqs 3 and 4 for future modem use.

This same card (3) will work when it's set to use io
320 and irq 10.

The interrupts allowed by the NICs config util
are:

 9, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 15

The interrupts in use by LRP are:

 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 13, 14

NOTE: 5 and 10 in the list above are mapped
to the two NICS that ARE working.

Here's the error message from the Kernel:

NE*000 ethercard probe at 0x340: failed to detect IRQ line

As you can see from the error message above, the
Kernel can see the card at it's io address. I
just don't know what problem it has with getting
the interrupt.

Can anyone give me any idea what the heck is going
on?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
kelly
