Subject:    ppp with dynamic and demand

i'm using pppd with dynamic and demand option to connect my personal
computer to the internet via an ISP
the man page says that this is not recommended
in fact the first try always results in "cannot find host"
from then on the connection works fine

is there any solution to this "problem"?
does using diald make any difference?
