unfortunately the omreport command isn't even part of the dellomsa rpm
package (which is fairly trivial to make work on debian, hopefully i'll
post my results later tonight), it's a part of a
sadm11/omacore/OMSALX32.zip file which aparently uses a java installer
(?!?) to install on redhat.

i spent over a day and a half getting the 4.51-3417 version to work on
debian by installing redhat on a separate partition and copying the
files over once it was installed. installing it manually was next to
impossible since the java installer checks for some very redhat-specific
things.

personally, i find the results provided with the snmp smuxpeer to be just
fine and while i haven't used the omreport or the webserver that much,
more than complete for my needs. i filter off snmp with packet filtering
on both the router and the server, so i feel its adequetly secure.
therefore i didn't attempt this feat with 4.60-3524.

if dell won't release cross-distribution linux software, will they at least
release software that uses the standard package tools on their
"approved" distribution?

i'll also try and post my cricket config trees that uses this data.
