Right, faulty and dying disks, having bad sectors aren't supported
currently by ntfsresize (what qtparted uses internally) thus resizing
is disabled for this case.

If you can send me the NTFS metadata then I could implement the needed
support. You need to create ntfsmeta.img.tar.bz2 this way

        ntfsclone --metadata --output ntfsmeta.img /dev/XXXXXXX
        tar -cjSf ntfsmeta.img.tar.bz2 ntfsmeta.img

and send the file or a URL to download it to me in private (the file
should be around 0.3 - 3 MB).

You need to get a snapshot of the development version 2.0 of ntfsprogs
(it includes ntfsclone) that has already bad sector support from the
address below

	http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/snapshots/readme.html

or download and use the precompiled latest ntfsclone binary from

	http://mlf.linux.rulez.org/mlf/ezaz/ntfsclone-static.tgz

Cheers,
	Szaka
