Sounds like there are several partitions on the server and the client is
only mounting the root.

With knfsd, you need to export every partition separately and mount each on
the client.

Without knowing how "/" is exported, it's difficult to determine the cause.
However, I suspect this may be a permissions issue. If you enter the mount
point as root (and your not using the no_root_squash option in the export
definition) your id is switched to "nobody". The permissions on the
directories in / are usually 755....so this is why you can see them, but
/home directories are probably 700, which is only viewable/accessible by
the owner and root. Try using the no_root_squash option in your exports
settings and if you can then see everything, you know it's permissions.

Hello,

I searched in the mailing list archive but I didn't find any clue for my
probleme ...

My problem is that I export / using NFS

From a host allowed to access it, I make :

mount nfsserver.mydomain.com:/ /externals

At this point, everything is ok.

When I list /external I have :

bin/
boot/
dev/
etc/
home/

etc etc...

When I enter in /home everuthing ok.

But when I want to list this directory, there is no files (although there
are files !)......
Why ???

If I list for exemple /etc , I see the files

I noticed that I only see file on the filesystem I mounted.
I can't see any file on /home /var /usr etc etc...

On the server, /home /var /usr are well mounted.

Any clue ??

thank you !
