Please let me know what you find out on this. I use three flat screen
monitors attached to my Xp Workstation. Once you use more then one
monitor you will never want to do without. It so nice to throw ref
material or code or anything on one monitor while working off the other.

Not nonsense at all, though I haven't done it myself. In the context of
X, 
you want to look into Xinerama. I'm not sure how this can be done (if 
indeed it can) using console logins.
