	Neil, this procedure is an -interim- fix.
	It's only intent is to provide for the present problems
	with building Gated on linux, Ie: Stephen or someone as
	compitent may find the trouble with the autoconf script,
	then most of this will be un-necessary.  Hopefully soon.
