This primarily depends on the font you are using in the terminal program,
and _then_ also on the dosemu.conf settings. For instance, for xterm you
can get the vga font by starting it with.

xterm -font vga

There is a somewhat obsolete program called xtermdos, that does something
similar:

xterm -font vga -fb vga -geometry 80x25 -bg black -fg gray -T DOSEMU -n 
DOSEMU -e dos $*

But this starts dosemu straight away, and you probably want to telnet/ssh
first (if remote X is impossible, else just use xdos).

I don't know so much about putty and friends, but they should have some
font selection scheme available, I think.
