You don't have to 'label' it.
Just say "pvcreate /dev/md0" and "vgcreate Idontknow /dev/md0".

pv_read_all_pv() should find your /dev/md0 after you did that pvcreate on it.


But...

Because pv_read_all_pv() relies on the /dev setup, you might suffer
from some unusual /dev/md* entries.

Please check them and run "pvscan -d" looking for /dev/md* hits.
Look what pvscan thinks of them please.
