I must say if I had an ATI Radeon card I would probably stay with XFree86
as long as possible, as there seem to be some unresolved problems
with the ati driver in Xorg,
judging by the Fedora-2 mailing list.

I have an ATI Rage Mobility board in my Sony C1VFK Picturebook (notebook),
and I can only get 8bpp at 1024x480,
while I used to get 16bpp with XFree86,
As far as I can see, no-one has managed to get 16bpp working
under Xorg at this resolution.

If anyone has, I would love to hear from them.
