Hi all,

I currently own a Dell Inspiron 4000 running under Debian and am interested in
musical applications. However, this machine is severely limited in this domain:
it has only a mono input, I could never get it running in full duplex (even
under windows), etc. I also have other issues, like the poor quality of the
hard drive, and the fact that it is not aging very well.

Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a replacement and one of my priority is a
good sound card that has a good Linux support. In an ideal world, it would have
digital i/o as well (I'd like to avoid having to buy an external sound card).

So are there people here using a laptop for making music with Linux? What is
the hardware that they are using?
