You can only use netboot and etherboot on PCs, but you can use initrd-tftp
on anything, regardless of whether it's firmware knows how to load a
ramdisk and tell Linux where it is. You could even put the kernel onto a
floppy disk or burn it into flash, but use initrd-tftp to load the latest
system software over the network at boot time.
