Subject:    I can't compile Kernel 1.3.83+

Hello, I recently downloaded kernel 1.3.83, well it was a while ago but
anyway, after untaring it and going through the configurations and all I
tried to make a zImage of the kernel.  Well everything seemed to go well on
my reliable P-100 with 8 megs but when it got to making the kernel it died
and game me a Segmentation error fault.  I then tried giving it some more
memory via swapfiles(100 megs in all) and it still gave me the same error
mesage so my question is what do I need to do to get the kernel to compile
on my system.  Thanks
