Hello!

Simple question: Is the implementation of the function put_char() for tty
drivers mandatory? (Defined in include/linux/tty_driver.h, struct tty_driver)

Because if it is not, then there is a bug in drivers/char/n_tty.c, where the
driver specific put_char gets called without a check for availability (in
function opost())

On the other hand, if it is mandatory, then there is a bug in the USB serial
part, as usbserial.c does not implement put_char()...
(drivers/usb/serial/usbserial.c)

bye
Norbert
