*Position Description:*
We are looking for a bright and capable junior system admin to join our
team as an outsource. This will be an exciting opportunity to develop your
knowledge and expertise with a wide variety of technologies and products.
You will apply disciplined support processes, work with and support
integrated teams. Successfully supporting our projects will involve hard
work, continuous fast learning, solid self-management skills, and the
professional attitude required to work within operation teams.
*Responsibilities:*
As a Junior System Administrator, you will have the opportunity to learn
and deploy projects with the help of System Administration Team. Your
responsibilities will include:
- Build complete server environments as directed, using defined
procedures
- Continuous monitoring of all the system components and report problems
- Support team members in troubleshooting and repair of computing
environment issues even after work hours
- Maintain documentation
- Help resolve issues, communicating with other teams, hardware and some
software vendors
*Requirements (experience/skills):*
- Bachelours Degree
- Curiosity for open source system software
- High capacity for learning new technologies
- The ability to prioritize, track and manage issues to completion
- A team oriented approach to solving technical problems anytime
necessary
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and fully understand technical documentation in Englis=
h
Technical requirements - some combination of:
- Strong knowledge on basic computer hardware components
- Knowledge and experience in configuring Linux systems
- Facilitate basic system administrator tools & processes such as:
boot/shut down of Linux system, add/remove user accounts, edit
configuration files, add a server to a network, etc
- Navigate Linux operating system, ie understand job schedules, soft &
hard links, distinctions between the kernel & the user environment, etc
- Experience troubleshooting server hardware, LANs and client-server
systems
- Some scripting knowledge (sh, bash, perl, etc)
- Knowledge and understanding on Virtualization Technologies (VMWare,
KVM, etc)
- Basic knowledge about SAN, RAID and Disk Systems
- Basic knowledge of networking (NFS, Routing, vLAN, etc)
