I am looking to get some external storage connected to a quad Opteron with
16GB of ram. The box has on board SCSI via an LSI based setup. I have two
16 drive storage boxes with two scsi connectors per box. So that means 4
scsi connectors with each scsi connector serving up one lun for a total of
4 luns with each lun being 1.6TB.

This is a small experiment to see what kind of performance I would get out
of a setup like this. I will do nfs exports from the box. The quad has 2
gig-e connectors and I will probably bond them together.

So the question is: I have looked at the following SCSI adaptors, does any
one have any experience with the cards? Also, what kind of performance
should I see. What kind of problems might I have to deal with?

I will use the PCI-X slots for the SCSI cards.

LSI22320-R
64-bit PCI-X Ultra320 SCSI Dual-Channel Host Bus Adapter

Adaptec 39320D-R
Dual-channel, 64-bit, 133 MHz, PCI-X, Ultra320 SCSI card, with two
external and one internal connectors

Thanks,
Joseph
