For the record, real life has been conspiring to keep me away from
heartbeat for the last few months.  (I've never even attempted to get
("cvs update" equivalent) anything from the new Hg/Mercurial repository.)

Realistically, the next few months might be similar.  So I'm probably not
going to be able to do any serious work on any portability/Solaris issues
for the moment.  (I'll try, but...)  Sorry.
