Is that something we might want to pick up for heartbeat's processes
too?

That would make us nearly immune to being accidentially killed by the
Out-of-memory heuristics of the Linux kernel.

(Though the SLES kernel will refuse to set oom_adj to below -16; so -17
seems to be the wrong value.)
