OK, so how do you want to come up to speed? ;-) Just start anywhere,
really, there's way enough work. If anything takes your fancy, I'd
suggest to start there - it will make learning easier.

Some book recommendations: Blueprints for High Availability; Fault
Tolerance in Distributed Systems; In Search of Clusters; Distributed
Algorithms.
