Ah, ok, this is a sideeffect then. STONITH really is very rarely optional ;-)
The newer code base contains fixes to make it work in more cases, but these
are very unlikely to get ported back to 0.4.9.2. I'd suggest to go with 0.4.9f
from CVS, and 0.5.0 as it comes out.
