And use decent hardware.

The journaling code in any journaling fs should be totally safe
against power interruptions provided that the disks themselves don't
lie about when they have actually written the data to oxide.
Unfortunately, many disks _do_ lie.  Using SCSI instead of IDE and
disabling all write-behind caching will minimise that particular risk.
