Try "Advanced Concepts in Operating Systems: Distributed, Database, and
Multiprocessor Operating Systems" by Mukesh Singhal and Nirinjan G. Shivaratri,
McGraw Hill, 1994. (ISBN 0-07-057572-X).  It is organized into seven parts with
about three chapters each, namely: Process synchronization, distributed
operatins systems, distributed resource management, failure recovery and fault
tolerance, protection and security, multiprocessor operating systems, and
database operating systems.
