I can compile on Solaris 8 using Suns Forte compiler and ship it back if
that would help!!

Just send me detailed instructions...  I will make a SOlaris package that u
can use pkgadd on

And once I do some more research, I will create a package (after I figure
out the FreeBSD problems I'm having getting the port and package done ).

Once the package is done, then I'll either upload the create script or the
binaries (I guess that I'll have to get the disks so that I can use my
external DISK box so that I can have a 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 8 and 9 on Sparc
system (or do we just create one for 2.5 and it 'should' work on each ?).

I'd start with the CVS version for now.  I neglected to include the 
ConfigureMe file (and probably some others) in the tar ball.
