Subject:    Help compiling GCC please

I am trying to upgrade from gcc 2.7.2.1 to gcc 2.8.1 in order to compile
and run a test version of glibc2. I have a problem when I do a make
compare and the INSTALL says I need to get errors resolved before
installing the new gcc. Could someone please point me to a HOWTO or web
page that will help me make a successful compile of gcc? If someone
thinks they could help and want to see the compare error please let me
know and I will send it to you..
