FreedomHEC 2007

FreedomHEC 2007, the Linux device driver
"unconference", will take place May 18-19, 2007,
following WinHEC in Los Angeles. Plan to attend
and open up new and creative uses for your hardware
product in networking and media devices, servers,
and other markets that depend on the fast-growing
Linux operating system.

Who: Hardware engineers, driver developers, you.

What: Device driver conference

Where: Holiday Inn Los Angeles City Center
       Los Angeles, California, USA.

When: May 18-19, 2007

Why: Make your hardware valuable to the growing
       Linux market.

Speakers will include Greg Kroah-Hartman, co-author
of _Linux Device Drivers, 3rd Edition_ and _Linux
Kernel In a Nutshell_.

At FreedomHEC, participants will learn that the Linux
driver development process is different from, and
lighter weight than, the complex processes used to
develop drivers for proprietary operating systems.
The kernel team and the Linux distributions take
on much of the build, test, and support work for a
driver, freeing up the hardware manufacturer's driver
team to concentrate on the core code.

One hardware manufacturer devotes 150 engineers to a
Microsoft Windows driver, while one person can handle
the Linux driver. At FreedomHEC, you'll learn that
a Linux driver is a small investment for a big gain,
and you'll meet the Linux professionals who can open
the door to the Linux market for you.

To attend FreedomHEC, sign up at the conference
Wiki at http://freedomhec.pbwiki.com/ Conference
attendance is free for anyone who pre-registers on
the Wiki.
