Subject: Host ATM Research Platform (HARP) Software

I am pleased to announce that the Minnesota Supercomputer Center, Inc.
is making its Host ATM Research Platform (HARP) software available for
non-commercial use.

The HARP software implements the IETF Classical IP model for using IP
over ATM networks, including UNI 3.0 signaling, an RFC 1577 IP/ATM
address resolution client, an RFC 1577 server, as well as Fore Systems'
proprietary SPANS signaling protocol. The initial version of HARP
runs under SunOS 4.1 on SPARC systems and supports Fore Systems'
SBA series of ATM interfaces.

For additional information about HARP, or to download a copy of
the software, see:

	http://www.msci.magic.net/

The HARP software was developed as part of MSCI's work on the
DARPA-sponsored MAGIC Gigabit Testbed.

Note that the HARP software is currently in a "limited availability"
phase intended to help us assure its quality prior to unrestricted
distribution. During this period you will need to get the HARP
distribution password from us.
