Does anybody know how to force PIO mode on IDE? I am working with
IXP425, SnapGear 3.1.1, 2.4.24 release. I am using the HPT371, which
has some troubles using DMA on the hardware I am working with. What
I'd like to do is just force PIO - the connected device (disk) is a
Compact Flash device, and performance is not an issue.
I updated hpt366.h to change from AUTODMA to NODMA, but then the
kernel panics during start, with a null pointer problem. I think
what is happening is that I did disable DMA on device, but kernel
does not know about this. If I turn of DMA with xconfig for IDE, then I
cannot configure the HPT3xx in in.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
tom
