This has been fixed in more recent versions of apmd. The original use of
vfork was not appropriate and was probably due to a typo.

The most recent version of apmd is currently supported by Avery Pennarun
<apenwarr@worldvisions.ca> with a mailing list (apmd-list@worldvisions.ca)
and the following homepage:

    http://www.worldvisions.ca/~apenwarr/apmd/

This homepage has information on how to subscribe to the mailing list, and
may also deal with some kernel-level issues. The apmd package has been
enhanced with many features that people have requested, including the
ability to run scripts at suspend and resume time.
