Subject: sysstat-5.0.1 - System performance tools for Linux

Hi all,

This is to announce that sysstat version 5.0.1 has been released. This version
is a stable one which can be used with *all* Linux kernels, including recent
cutting-edge 2.6.x ones.
The major improvement here concerns file locking for sar, preventing multiple
instances of sadc from writing to it at once.

sysstat 5.0.1 is available for download from my web page at:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

It is also available on ibiblio's Linux archive site:
ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/status/
115kB sysstat-5.0.1.tar.gz
93kB sysstat-5.0.1.tar.bz2
118kB sysstat-5.0.1-1.src.rpm
81kB sysstat-5.0.1-1.i386.rpm

The sysstat utilities are a collection of performance monitoring tools for
Linux. These include sar, mpstat, iostat and sa tools.

To learn some more about sysstat, check out
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

Enjoy!

Changes vs 5.0.0 are:
* -L option added to sadc. Enable sadc to lock its output file to prevent
multiple instances from writing to it at once.
* sa1 and sysstat scripts updated to take advantage of -L option.
* Handle the case where, under very special circumstances, STDOUT may become
unavailable, and sar, iostat and mpstat are no longer able to display anything.
* sadc as called in sysstat script also uses -F option to force the creation of
daily data file.
* sar, sadc and mpstat manual pages updated.
* Code cleaned.
* FAQ and CREDITS files updated.

GPP 2.21-- Generic preprocessor -- released on 2004-02-07

About:
GPP is a general-purpose preprocessor with customizable syntax, suitable
for a wide range of preprocessing tasks. Its independence from any
programming language makes it much more versatile than cpp, while its
syntax is lighter and more flexible than that of m4. The syntax is fully
customizable, which makes it possible to process text files, HTML, or
source code in a variety of languages equally efficiently

Changes since v2.20 (2004-01-17):
GPP now supports cpp-style #error and #warning meta-macros.
