The Philadelphia Alternate Systems User Group (PASUG) invites
all interested computer users to attend the November meeting.

The November 20th meeting will be devoted in its entirety to a
Linux Boot Camp session. Scott Russell will conduct a follow-on
to his earlier tutorial Linux sessions with a presentation/demo
of a number of essential Linux skills, emphasizing Linux command
line basics, including the following topics:
 o Review of file permissions, ownership, and how to make changes.
 o Editing files with vi (aka the "edlin" of Unix editors).
 o Admin mode: the 'ps' command, and how to manage tasks.
 o Command window tricks: scrolling, quick selection, quick
   copy, command recall, etc.
 o Basic shell configuration.
 o How to mount and unmount devices.
  
Additionally, as time may permit, a selection of KDE basics:
Configuring KDE via Control Center: default setup, appearance
& themes, desktops, components, konqueror, window options, etc.
  
Other agenda items include announcements, news & new software
releases, and raffle. A copy of the most recent 4th edition of
O'Reilly's best-selling "Running Linux" will be raffled off.
You will also enjoy fresh hot pizza, which will be delivered
to our meeting at the break period.
  
MEETING FORMAT & TIME SCHEDULE
. 7:00 - 7:20  Mtg start: announcements/news/new releases, etc.
. 7:20 - 8:15  Linux Boot Camp (first part)
. 8:15 - 8:40  Pizza break & raffle
. 8:40 - 9:50  Linux Boot Camp (continuation)
. 9:50 -10:00  Close-down, pack-up & exit

PASUG meetings are open and free for all users, their guests and
others interested in learning about Linux, OS/2 and associated
technologies. There are no dues, but meeting attendees share the
cost of refreshments. We have a full agenda and tight schedule.
Please try to be on time promptly by 7:00pm to avoid missing out
on early parts of the meeting.

PASUG meetings are held at Bryn Mawr Community Center, next to
Ludington Library, at corner of Lancaster & Bryn Mawr Avenues,
Bryn Mawr, PA on the 4th Thurs. Jan-Oct, & 3rd Thurs. Nov-Dec.
