About SciTech SNAP Graphics for Linux
=====================================

SciTech SNAP Graphics provides high performance graphics accelerator
access across a wide range of modern graphics hardware and operating
systems. The core technology is our SciTech SNAP Graphics Architecture,
which is a cross platform device driver technology enabling the use of
the same device drivers in all versions of SciTech SNAP Graphics.
Sharing the drivers between platforms improves the quality and
performance of device drivers for all supported operating systems.

The install archive contains the end user Linux installation of SciTech
SNAP Graphics. It contains all of the necessary Linux based utilities
and device drivers that work with SciTech SNAP based applications, as
well as full support for XFree86 4.0.2 and later official releases.
Applications that can utilise SciTech SNAP currently include
applications developed using the SciTech MGL graphics library, or
applications written to work directly with the SciTech SNAP device drivers.

For more detailed information about SciTech SNAP Graphics for Linux
(including the list of supported graphics chipsets) see the complete
readme at:

==============================================================
SCO Suspends Sales of Linux, Alerts Customers That Linux Is an
Unauthorized Derivative of UNIX and That Legal Liability May
Extend to Commercial Users SCO Reaffirms Commitment to SCOx,
SCO's Growth Strategy Through Web Services
==============================================================
LINDON, Utah, May 14, 2003 -- The SCO Group (SCO), the
owner of the UNIX operating system, today warned that Linux is an
unauthorized derivative of UNIX and that legal liability for the use of
Linux may extend to commercial users. SCO issued this alert based on its
findings of illegal inclusions of SCO UNIX intellectual property in
Linux. The company also indicated that until the attendant risks with
Linux are better understood and properly resolved, the company will
suspend all of its future sales of the Linux operating system.
==============================================================
Microsoft will license the rights to Unix technology from SCO Group, a
move that could impact the battle between Windows and Linux in the
market for computer operating systems.

According to a statement from Microsoft, the company will license SCO's
Unix patents and the source code. That code is at the heart of a $1
billion lawsuit between SCO and IBM, which is aggressively pushing Linux
as an alternative to Windows in corporate back shops.
