Hi all, in my office we're looking for alternatives to reading/writing .doc and .xls documents. We're a 100% Linux network but more and more we receive and sometimes generate MS documents. We've tried StarOffice, but it's abilities to write .doc documents are unaccetpable. Those documents, when read with MS Word, loose lots of formatting. We've tried WordPerfect, although not the lates version, and also didn't like the formatting. We now want to try KOffice, but we're having problems installing KDE 2.0 and KOffice itself (These are not slakware-friendly programs). Does anyone have an opinion on this? Is KOffice worth the effort of changing from Slackware to RedHat? Thanks for any input on these matters. -- Jorge R.
