i have to get htdig to understand the russian charset KOI8-R.
any googling for help leads me to pages in russian, which i dont speak.
but one of my clients has a page in russian and needs htdig to work with it.

can anyone point me in the right direction?
am i looking to get my linux to support KOI8-R, or apache to support it, or 
just htdig? or all three?

i dont know anything about charsets, as you may have noticed.
any help would be appreciated.
