Go to http://domsch.com/linux and under the adaptec raid section there is a
link to a driver and instructions for pe2500. Unfortunately the only
version that you have that will load is 7. 6.1 isn't even possible and you
have to have Dell's oem version of 6.2SBE2 to load it.

Subject: aacraid problem with Redhat

Hi,

We bought a PowerEdge 2500 server and are trying to install RdHat Linux
on it. The version of redhat we are using is the 6.1 ( I tried also
the 6.2 and the 7.0 but i see the same problem).
I meet the same problems described in this mailing list,
but i do not see any of the answers giving explicit
and detaily described solution.

The problem : The installation begins normally, i do it as expert,
using the CD of my Redhat distibution.
After that i am asked to insert the "driver" diskette. What I do.
Afted that i am sked to introduce the SCSI devices i have.
I try to install the two : 1- scsi disk, by selecting adapted aha
(aic7xxx). 2- for the raid card, by selecting the driver from
the diskette : Dell aacraid (previously known as percraid).
When arrived to the disk partitionning, it fails saying :
"No valid device were found on which to create new filesystems.
Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem".

Any help ?
many yhanks in advance,

Smain
