p.s. Notice how telling Lilypond to consider the feathered measure separately from \
the rest, it does something different spacing-wise (which may or may not be what you \
want):

  \newSpacingSection
 \override Beam.grow-direction = #LEFT
 \featherDurations #(ly:make-moment 7/1)

}

Please read the manual carefully as to all the spacing options — they really are \
remarkably flexible and complete.
