Yesterday, I wrote:

Okay, this is interesting. If I replace

    dynamics = {
        s1\p    |
        s1*2
        \bar "|."
    }

(slightly simplified from my example, but still displaying the problem) with

    dynamics = {
        s1\p    |
        s1      |
        s1\f    |
        \bar "|."
    }

then the "programming error:" message goes away.
