I reported the same thing at the end of last year, see 
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2009-12/msg00507.html 
and 
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2009-12/msg00528.html. I 
used \once \override Dots #'extra-offset to move the dot back to where I 
expected it to be.
