Via Google I came upon Lilypond. I am looking for a good programm to 
engrave music. Lilypond seems a very good program to me.
I use Linux (Fedora4) and downloaded and installed the rpms. However, if 
I start the programm from a terminal application I get the following

Am not a Linux guru either. Anyone who has a tip to solve my problem?

goed samenwerkt met Lilypond. Als het even kan, probeer uit te vinden 
welke versie van Guile je hebt staan en welke versie Lilypond gebruikt. 
Waarschijnlijk lost dat je probleem op.
Een ander punt dat interessant is: Lilypond verwerkt lilypond bestanden. 
Dat zijn gewoon tekstbestanden met de .ly extensie. Hoe je die schrijft 
staat helemaal in de handleiding, dus die is zeker de moeite waard om te 
lezen.
Je start Lilypond dan ook als: lilypond <lilypondbestand> Het kan zijn 
dat er een situatie optreedt dat je nog een parameter moet zetten, maar 
die heb ik zelf nooit nodig gehad.
