Han-Wen,

	I can confirm that 1.8 works on Mandrake 9.1 if you install the development
	libraries for guile. It also appears that there is an additional dependency
	in the Mandrake rpm with some sort of text handling library which as far as
	I can tell is a Mandrake specific library. Odd, however it's working.
