ok, yesterday i download and installed lid-0.9.11-2.2.17. i followed
the directions and everything seemed to build fine. i then
rebooted and received a message that fsck need to be run. i used
root, logged in, and ran fsck. after rebooting the next time, i
could not log in using the kde interface. using 'cntrl-alt-f1' i was
able to log in, kill kde, and start up xdm. i was then able to
log in, so the first problem i have is whatever kde is using to
authorize me, got changed.

secondly, nearly everything is mount read-only. i can't seem to change
anything, since all the partitions seem to be mounted that way.
is there a way to turn off LIDS and then start my configuration
all over ? thanks.

greg newbie to lids and linux.
