Well, there are several Qt 2 versions. Qt 2.0, Qt 2.0.1 Qt 2.0.2 Qt 2.1
snapshots Qt 2.1 beta1 Qt 2.1 beta2 Qt 2.2 snapshot and so on. 

Maybe you can guess that not all behave the same, and if you mix the
includes and lib then you get compiling or runtime errors. I can only guess
when you don't post the exact error.

When it produces a static library, then there is a static QT library!
that's why I wrote includes != lib.
