Did you install KDE3 on your own or did you use KDE3 that comes with SuSE 
distri?
I had crash-problems with licq on SuSE 8.0 with KDE3, but i used KDE3 that 
delivers with SuSE 8.0. I did not try to install rpm's from KDE-mirrors.
