Hi,
I am looking into a SANE issue in code where usb_clear_halt() is 
routinely called shortly after usb_open() and some of the standard calls 
to get configuration etc.

Is there any good reason to call this function when an error condition 
has not been reported?
Are there any known dangers in doing so?

A number of users have reported that the device fails to operate 
properly when the function is called in this way.
Removing the call fixes the issue.
