I guess to realize the options using an external serial access is that
ser2net of course will only work once the system is booted.

If you need console access to the boot prompt this can in our case be
remotely achieved using another piece of hardware like a PI or a
commercial converter.

To address the original posting I would like to suggest to split up the
wiki in multiple parts. The way I understand it, it illustrates the
installation of LEAF on a PI, then the way to overcome the reboot
problem and finally the use of the serial port of the PI to access the
console port of another LEAF box.

A quick look at the documentation appears to show that the installation
of a PI is not really documented. It would be good to document this
apart from the serial console access.

In the net it appears that there are software solutions to reboot a PI
which don't need a hardware modification and GPIO driver.

We don't have the shutdown utility but if needed I am sure it is portable.

cheers
