Hi all,

I´m trying to handle user/email certs (base64 encoded) under slapd
(ldap-3.3 from Umich.); using the userCertificate/usersMimeCertificate
attrs. The certs were generated, signed and DER-encoded using SSLeay. 

Putting the certs to the directory worked without problems (obviously!)
but the trouble is the retrieval using Communicator 4.X browser. I´ve
seen that Communicator expects a "userCertificate;binary" attr subtype
when retrieving the certs from a directory (or a "usersMimeCertificate;
binary" attr on email certs); but (apparently) slapd doesn´t support
subtypes yet; and the certificate retrieval aborts.

Since the Communicator/slapd combo works quite well in other areas
(email addr. searches), I´m eagerly interested in solutions/workarounds
or just hints, *please*

PD: I´m going to test Critical Angle´s LDAP for this ... but I´m pressed
to try first umich ldap!
