Hi,

actually there is

kate-wildcard(*.c;*.h): xxx

and

kate-mimetype(xxx/mimetype): xxx

that should set the variables only for files matching the given wildcard or mimetype.

I agree, that this seems to be under-documented and perhaps it even doesn't work,
we need tests for that :=)
