Subject: Syntax highlighting question

I have a markup language that includes the following markup:
` at the beginning of a line: starts a blockquote, and thus, switches to a
context named blockquote
= at the beginning of a line: starts a codeblock, and thus, switches to a
context named codeblock
A codeblock can be nested within a blockquote or not.
I also want to allow:
`= at the beginning a line: which starts a blockquote with a codeblock nested
within it, thus it should switch first to a context named blockquote, and then
immediately switch to a context named codeblock.
I know I can achieve that result by having the markup on two separate lines,
i.e.:
`
=
But is there a way to do it with both marks on the same line, i.e.:
`=
